The VSU Main Campus has reached a major milestone by securing 100% Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for all of its undergraduate programs, 

The Visayas State University, through the Philippine Rootcrops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to intensify the implementation of the  program “Bigyang-Halaga, Bangon MSMEs (BBM MSMEs)” on April 8, 2025.

The VSU administration officially received the completed report on the inventory and assessment of the university’s utility infrastructure to rehabilitate and upgrade systems that have long suffered from aging and disrepair. 

VSU Tolosa formalized its growing academic ties with Kagoshima University Faculty of Fisheries (KUFF), Japan, through the exchange of a Joint Declaration of Cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) held on March 11, 2025. 

Dr. Santiago T. Peña Jr., Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovation of VSU, is a recipient of the Excellence in Innovation Award at the 2025 Australia Alumni Excellence Awards held on April 3, 2025 at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence in North Forbes Park, Makati City. 

VSU Tolosa received a special recognition from SANTEH Feeds Corporation during the company’s 35th anniversary celebration held on March 5, 2025 at the Summit Hotel in Tacloban City. 

VSU recently welcomed its new international students from Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic, with a week of activities from March 24-28, 2025. The International Affairs and Relations Office (IARO) organized several events to help the students settle in and get familiar with university life.
