VSU Tolosa received a special recognition from SANTEH Feeds Corporation during the company’s 35th anniversary celebration held on March 5, 2025 at the Summit Hotel in Tacloban City.
The award was given in acknowledgement of VSU Tolosa’s contributions to the aquaculture industry through its Bachelor of Science in Fisheries program, which has consistently produced graduates who are ready to take on roles in fish farming, feed technology, and related fields.
Many of these graduates are now working with SANTEH Feeds Corporation in various capacities, from aquafeed development and farm operations to sales and technical services.
Present during the awarding were VSU Tolosa Chancellor Dr. Quenstein D. Lauzon, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and the Head of the Department of Fisheries Ms. Rizalyn P. Gonzales, and Head of the Department of Aquatic Sciences Ms. Fermina C. Gensan.
The recognition was handed over by SANTEH Vice President Mr. Diomede Bucog and National Sales Manager mr. Daniel Cabrera.
Speaking at the event, Dean Gonzales said that the program continues to sharpen its curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the fisheries sector.
“We are preparing graduates not only for aquaculture but also for fish processing, marine capture, and other areas of fisheries work,” she said.
Chancellor Lauzon expressed her appreciation to SANTEH for recognizing the hard work of their graduates and the kind of training they received.
“This motivates us even more to improve how we teach and how we train fisheries professionals,” she added.
Founded in 1990, SANTEH Feeds Corporation is a leading manufacturer of aquafeeds in the Philippines. Its brand, Tateh Aquafeeds, is widely used by fish farmers across the country.
Over the years, the company has worked with schools and institutions to bridge education and industry needs in aquaculture.
