TAKING THE EXAM
Overview
The 2024 VSU College Admission Test is a two-hour exam done online through the Moodle platform. All takers must use a computer and will be observed by a proctor through Zoom throughout the duration of the test.
Technical Requirements
You will need the following equipment and software to take the test:
- Desktop computer or laptop with functional video camera and microphone
- If you are using a desktop computer or an external web camera, it will be positioned on the side so you could show your screen and keyboard.
- If you are using a laptop with a built-in webcam, you will additionally need a medium-sized mirror, to be placed strategically for the proctor to see your screen and keyboard.
- If you do not have an external webcam or a mirror, you must use a mobile phone or tablet for Zoom and position it accordingly to show your screen and keyboard.
- A strong and stable internet connection.

- Google chrome web browser to take the exam on the VSU CAT Platform (Moodle-based).
- Zoom app client or web browser to join the Zoom meeting.

Exam Procedure
- Get your exam date and schedule from the email we set to you. You will be assigned either to a Saturday or Sunday.
- Get the Zoom link emailed to you at least one day before your schedule.
- Log in to Zoom 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour before your scheduled time. For example, if your exam is at 9 AM, you must be in by 7:30 AM. Ensure that your camera (and mirror) is placed strategically as instructed in the Technical Requirements section above.
- Once in Zoom, rename your Zoom account to “Your ECN” - “Last Name, Given Name”. For example: 12345 - Dela Cruz, Juan.
- Log in to the exam platform using the link and account credentials sent to you.
- Your proctor will start validating your identity. Please show the following through the webcam: Your face, a valid ID or any official document with your photo, and your ECN printed/written in large font (at least 1 inch tall) on a piece of paper.
- Recite the pledge of academic honesty as instructed by the proctor.
- At the exact time of your exam, refresh your browser. The exam will appear in your account. You may now start taking the exam.
- Finish the exam. If you are done before the two-hour duration, you may notify your proctor through a private chat. You may then log out of the exam platform and leave the Zoom meeting. You’re done!
PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS
Admissions Procedure
Step 1. Go to this link “https://cat2024.vsu.edu.ph/” to directly access the VSU ADMISSION APP.
Step 2. Verify your email.
Step 3. Read the Privacy Policy thoroughly and click “I agree”.
Step 4. Fill-out the personal information carefully and Save.
Step 5. Select your Date of Birth.
Step 6. Don’t forget to “enable” the “Emergency Contact Person” in the Parent/Guardian Information section.
Step 7. Make sure to input your “exact” GPA with the attachment submitted.
Step 8. Upload the required documents.
Step 9. After you review all the information on “Step 5” in the Admission App, click “Submit”. There will be admission validators who will go through your application. Please check the email you used for the application from time to time. We will send you an update regarding your application from there.
Documents to submit
- For transfer students, you may upload a copy of your grades for all semesters taken instead of TOR.
- For transfer students who have only taken one semester in college, you may upload a photo of your Grade 12 report card with GPA instead of certification.
- For Social Category Applicants, you may present 4Ps ID instead of certification from DSWD
For Senior High School Graduating Students
- Certification of your grades with a computed Grade Point Average (GPA) from Grades 9, 10 and 11
- Any valid ID (School Id, Drivers license, Postal Id, Voters Id, National Id, Passport). If no valid ID, present voters’ certification.
For Senior High School Graduate
- Certification of your grades with a computed Grade Point Average (GPA) from Grade 12
- Any valid ID (School Id, Drivers license, Postal Id, Voters ID, National Id, Passport). If no valid ID, present voters’ certification.
For Alternative Learning System (ALS) Graduates
- ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) rating
- Any valid ID (School Id, Drivers license, Postal Id, Voters ID, National Id, Passport). If no valid ID, present voters’ certification.
For Transfer Students and Second Coursers
- Certified true copy of Transcript of Records (TOR)
- Certification of your grades with a computed Grade Point Average (GPA) from Grade 12 (applicable only for those who have taken only one semester in college)
- Any valid ID (School Id, Drivers license, Postal Id, Voters ID, National Id, Passport), If no valid ID, present voters’ certification)
- Certification/proof for any of your social category status (ex: solo parent's ID, Parents' 4Ps ID or certification from DSWD, Brgy. Indigency Certificate)
