 The Philippine Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) accorded the Visayas State University (VSU) as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)  Unit for Year 2016. This was communicated to VSU through a letter sent by the 8th Regional Community Defense Group based in Camp Downes, Ormoc City.

VSU recognized the Erasmus Mundus programme, a cooperation and mobility project of the European Union (EU), during its 92nd Founding Anniversary celebration, August 10.

Dr. Delfin Cabardo, Jr., and Dr. Cyril Noya placed 6th and 10th in the August 2016 Veterinarian Licensure Examination.

VSU joins the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) in celebrating 116 years of civil service. The celebration at VSU commenced on September 1 and will continue until the 30th.

Masters and undergraduate students in different fields of study at VSU expressed their common love for agriculture and their desire to contribute in the agricultural development in the country.
