For her works in poverty alleviation and human development, Dr. Anabella Bautista Tulin sets history by becoming the very first Viscan to be accorded with a Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA)—the official umbrella organization of all UP alumni and alumni chapters all over the world.

The VSU College of Nursing (CoN) brought another pride to VSU after securing two of the highest awards during the Midyear Conference and Workshop of the Nurse Educators and Practitioners (NEPra) Guild, Incorporated.

On the 50th year of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines, roughly 500 students gathered at the RDE Hall to attend a film screening of Dekada ‘70, an award-winning Filipino historical drama that followed the story of a middle-income family under the 20-year rule of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Led by no less than VSU President Edgardo E. Tulin, a total of 50 officials of the Visayas State University across its five-campus system completed a weeklong benchmarking visit to two of the country's top and emerging universities.

Viscans waited for more than two and a half years for the return of face-to-face classes. And the university did not disappoint in providing them a very warm welcome that gathered more than 5,000 students inside the newly expanded VSU Gymnatorium.
