The VSU College of Engineering and Technology (CET) is proud to send three senior geodetic engineering students who are members of the Viscan YouthMappers (VYM) to join the 10-day 2023 YouthMappers Leadership Fellows Summit in Montego Bay, Jamaica next year.

The Visayas State University Credit Cooperative (VSUCC) remains to be one of the strongest local lending and financial institutions in the region. This year, they bagged the highest award in the Medium Cooperatives Category in Eastern Visayas given by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).

To revitalize the once vibrant local abaca industry in Eastern Visayas, the National Abaca Research Center (NARC) recently established an 18-million peso worth of Research and Instructional Building that will also house a dedicated Tissue Culture Laboratory.

Officials of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Philippines together with researchers from the Czech University of Life Sciences visited the Visayas State University to officially inaugurate a multi-million peso laboratory for bioactive natural compounds inside the newly completed Advanced Research and Innovation Center (ARIC) held on October 24, 2022.

The launching of the first-ever research collaboration of VSU freshwater studies with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), and State Universities and Colleges within Region 8 marks a significant turning point for the university's freshwater research. By the same token, this collaboration is of paramount importance in filling the gaps of knowledge regarding the status and quality of the freshwater ecosystem in the Eastern Visayas and ensuring sufficient funding and resources.
