This is a story of how an alumna and a faculty member of the Visayas State University (VSU) made a record-breaking journey to be the first #ProudViscan to ever set foot in the world's number one university as a postdoctoral fellow at the prestigious Harvard Medical School.

Meet Dr. Ea Kristine Clarisse B. Tulin—a young Pinay scientist and a budding artist, a woman actively engaged in the promotions of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), a registered chemist, and an active youth leader who brought help to victims of Typhoon Odette (Rai) here in Eastern Visayas.

Centennial Book

In 2024, Visayas State University will embark on a significant milestone as it will be celebrating its 100th founding anniversary. And to mark VSU’s centenary, the university will be launching a coffee table book entitled "VSU at 100: A Century of Excellence" capturing the major accomplishments of the university as it pivots to become a global institution of higher learning.

Chem-Olympiad 2023

A team of three chemistry students composed of two seniors Marigold G. Lao and Nathan Kelsey B. Omandam, and a freshman Vic Andre G. Resmio from Visayas State University (VSU) bested the six participating teams and won first place in the recently concluded Chemistry Olympiad Quiz Bee 2023 under the tertiary level category.

This is the first-ever Chemistry Olympiad competition hosted by the Chemistry Society of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) as part of their celebration of the 2023 National Chemistry Week and the 116th Founding Anniversary of EVSU.

ISO Recertification Audit

After an intensive two-day recertification audit covering the review and assessment of the university’s Quality Management System (QMS), auditors from TÜV Rheinland Philippines found VSU’s QMS with only one minor nonconformity to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

ISTF 2023

As a research institution, Visayas State University (VSU) continued to make an influential contribution to science, technology, and environmental conservation in local, national, and international arenas.

#ProudViscan Dr. Guiraldo “Junjun” C. Fernandez, Jr. represented VSU by presenting the research success of rainforestation–a farming initiative originally developed by VSU together with the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in the 1990s.

Police Substation 2
