VSU’s homegrown agriculturist and social entrepreneur Cherrie Atilano bags another feather in her cap. This time as Outstanding Woman Social Entrepreneur in Southeast Asia given to her during the first ever Women of Future (WOF) Awards for Entrepreneurship held in Hilton Hotel Singapore on March 20, 2018.

March is a celebration of women and their amazing contribution to the world. I know you have heard of an old adage that says “It’s a man’s world.” Well, look at what we’ve got? Maybe if we allow more women to run the world rather than men dominating it, perhaps we will end up better. Come to think of it, the compassion, care and love that every woman innately possesses may be the solution we are looking for to solve the pressing problems that plague us today.

Over 60 children with exceptionalities joined together for a Special Education (SPED) Day Camp organized by MAPEH 119 students on March 20, 2018 at the VSU Gymnatorium.

“I never wanted to be a leader,” said Dr. Wolfreda T. Alesna.

“You are the future. I now understand what that means. It means that you are the agent of change or improvement in the future,” said Dr. Marife D. Corre, VSU alumna and professor at Gottingen University, Germany.

Now on its fourth year, the University Student Services Office (USSO) brought its different student services and programs at the Eco Park to extend and promote student welfare initiatives of the university.

Dr. Anabella B. Tulin, Dean of the VSU Graduate School (GS), and Dr. Ma. Theresa P. Loreto, Head of the Department of Biotechnology (DB) recently went to Kyoto, Japan to attend a Shimadzu protein sequencer training course from March 11 to 18, 2018.
