Dr. Roel R. Suralta, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agricultural Botany in the then Visayas State College of Agriculture (now VSU) in 1994, is the first center chief of the newly inaugurated Department of Agriculture - Crop Biotechnology Center (DA-CBC).

Tomorrow, October 26, is the scheduled vaccine roll out specially dedicated for VSU students living within Baybay City and nearby municipalities and cities.
A total of 760 students will be welcomed tomorrow inside the VSU Main Campus for their inoculation of the COVID-19 vaccine. This will be held at the University Gymnatorium.

All students residing near the VSU Main Campus in Baybay City and those coming from nearby towns and cities will now have the chance to be vaccinated anytime next week.
No less than the President of Visayas State University system, Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin, shared this good news to the University Services for Health, Emergency and Rescue (USHER) after meeting with representatives of the Department of Health Eastern Visayas (DOH-EV), and the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 8 (CHEDRO VIII).

VSU President Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin along with Dean of Students Prof. Manolo B. Loreto, Jr. took a short photo op with some recipients of TES after receiving their scholarship grant from CHED.
The Visayas State University is currently holding a weeklong distribution of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for the first semester of academic year 2020 to 2021 at the university entrance.
A total of 746 Viscans will each receive a check worth Php20,000.00 amounting to roughly 15 million pesos.
