VSU makes grand slam in AACCUP by being the Top 1 performing school in PH

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) awarded VSU for the 3rd time as Top 1 Performing State University after obtaining a total of 20 degree programs from undergraduate and graduate levels with Level IV accreditation status.
Since 2021, VSU has maintained its status as one of the state universities in the country with the highest number of Level IV accredited programs.
University President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes together with Quality Assurance Director Dr. Rotacio S. Gravoso and unit heads of the university received the plaque of recognition during AACUP’s 37th Annual National Conference and General Assembly on March 22, 2024 at the Century Park in Manila.
Part of the 20 programs accorded with Level IV status in 2023 are composed of 9 degree offerings with retained status and 11 programs with re-accreditation rank and these are the following:
Level IV retained:
- Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
- Bachelor of Science in Development Communication
- Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness
- Master of Science in Plant Protection
- Master of Science in Soil Science
- Master of Science in Agronomy
- Master of Science in Animal Science
- Master of Science in Plant Pathology
Level IV re-accreditation:
- Master of Agriculture Development - Education
- Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biosystems Engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Biology
- Master of Agriculture Development - Agriculture
- Master of Science in Agricultural Extension
- Master of Science in Agricultural Economics
- Master of Science in Entomology
- Master of Science in Horticulture
- Master of Science in Weed Science
- Bachelor of Secondary Education with majors in MAPEH and Mathematics
All of the Level IV retained degree programs and majority of the Level IV re-accredited come from the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS).
Aside from that, VSU’s flagship campus also obtained 12 Level III and 10 Level II re-accredited degree programs, respectively.
Meanwhile, the VITA campuses were also conferred with their own Level III program accreditation awards with VSU Alangalang for their Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics; and VSU Isabel for their Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness.
For VSU Tolosa, they also obtained Level III for their Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor Secondary majors in Mathematics and Science; and VSU Villaba for their Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majors in Agronomy and Soil Science, and Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in Biological Science, English, and Mathematics.
This another commendable performance of VSU was accredited to the former QAC Director Dr. Editha G. Cagasan and the efforts of all the Program Taskforce of VSU from the different departments and colleges namely Dr. Victor B. Asio, Dr. Rotacio S. Gravoso, Dr. Christina A. Gabrillo, Dr. Angelita L. Paradero, Dr. Ulysses A. Cagasan, Dr. Suzette B. Lina, Dr. Manuel D. Gacutan, Jr., Dr. Elvira Oclarit, and Dr. Lucia C. Borines.
The three-day conference ran from March 20 to 22, 2024 and was anchored on the theme, “Sustaining a workplace culture of quality assurance and accreditation”.
