VSU is still second top performing school in geodetic engineering in PH

Despite not having a topnotcher for the October 2023 Geodetic Engineering Licensure Examination (GELE), VSU reclaimed the 2nd spot of the top-performing colleges and universities offering the GE degree program across the country.
For this board exam results, VSU obtained an institutional passing rate of 88.24% producing 15 newly licensed geodetic engineers. In 2021, VSU also placed 2nd after securing a total passing percentage of 92.86%, which is slightly higher than this year’s overall rating.
As announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), out of 1,377 examinees who took the licensure exam from October 25 to 26, 2023, there were only 644 passers nationwide.
Among the 644 (46.77%) passers were 15 #ProudViscans who were all first-time takers, namely:

5. Bendijo, Kevin R.
6. Deloso, Sweet Grace B.
7. Espancho, Rhoan C.

10. Giva, John Lloyd C.
11. Gopio, Joyce Ella Marie R.
12. Napoles, Earl Terence N.
13. Orillano, Emmanuel S. Jr.
14. Papong, Leomel C.
15. Tiongco, Lira Jay L.
The University of the Philippines Diliman continues to dominate the licensure exam for geodetic engineers with a 100% (80 out of 80) passing rate in GELE 2023 results. Next to VSU’s place is Caraga State University in Butuan City which garnered an 84.62% (132 out of 156 takers) rating. This is then followed by Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete which got 84.21% (16 out of 19 passed), respectively.
Only four schools were recognized by the PRC with outstanding performance following the criteria of having 10 or more examinees and with at least an 80% passing percentage.
PRC conducted the GE board exam in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Davao, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
