In commemoration of the 200th birth anniversary of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale, the Visayas State University College of Nursing (CON) spearheaded a week-long activity highlighting the importance of nurses and midwives worldwide, from January 20 to 24, 2020.

The Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center for Eastern Visayas (ATI-RTC8) joined its nationwide anniversary celebration with the theme “Vibrant Agricultural and Fishery Extension Services towards Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita” on January 29, 2020, Wednesday.

“Although not all of you will enter the military service, for sure the discipline that you learned from (the Citizen’s Army Training) program is already instilled in your heart and mind which will make you good citizens of the country.”

These were the words of Baybay City’s SK Federation President Hon. Mark Michael Unlu-cay during the presentation of sponsors and escorts on January 10, at the VSU Lower Campus Oval Grounds.

With the push to go global, VSU professors were trained on preparing outcomes-based teaching and learning syllabi for graduate courses on January 20 to 21, Monday and Tuesday.

Visayas State University landed on the 18th spot of the Webometrics Ranking of the Philippine Universities released in January 2020, eight places higher than its 2019 ranking.
