Computer science students Paul Andrae Naval, Keith Derreck C. Valdeo, and Martin Benedict E. Ybas from VSU Team 2 secured the first runner-up title in the region's quantum computing competition. 

Not only a part of the registered Philippine herbaria, VSU Botanic Garden Herbarium is also listed in the worldwide index of herbaria, which is the Index Herbariorum.
