Students from Nagoya City University visited VSU on February 11 to meet the university officials, and discuss the ongoing academic collaborations and explore further opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and cultural programs. 

VSU’s former Department of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences (DLABS) building has been identified as a priority infrastructure project to undergo massive rehabilitation. 

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) program of VSU Main Campus has finally been awarded with the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). 

VSU’s BSME is the first in the Visayas region to earn a COPC under the new set of guidelines. 

VSU continues to assert its position among the top-performing higher education institutions in the country as it ranks 11th out of 365 Philippine universities in the January 2025 edition of the Ranking Web of Universities, formerly the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

Through the Department of Biotechnology, VSU and the University of the Philippines-Manila (UP Manila) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 22, 2025 for academic and research initiatives.

In adhering to quality standards for its program, the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) of VSU Main Campus has been awarded with five Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) for five specializations. 

Through the realization of the 10-year Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP), the Visayas State University is now on its full blown implementation of some of the priority infrastructure projects starting last quarter of 2024. 

Among the priority projects is the construction of the Digital Learning Spaces Center situated at the side of the University Gymnasium.
