Two VSU grads land in the top ten in the geodetic engineering board exam

In the September 2013 Geodetic Engineers Licensure Examination, two of the topnotchers are 2013 VSU graduates who recorded a 100% passing percentage. They are: Engr. Wilmar P. Alfeche who got 84.20% and ranked 5th place, and Engr. Celestial A. Manigo with a rating of 82.60% and landed on the 9th spot. The other passer is Engr. Erwin M. Gofredo, a 2009 BSGE graduate who also passed in the 2012 Geodetic Engineers Licensure Exam on a conditional status which he has readily complied to become full fledge Geodetic Engineer.
Wilmar hails from Ditucalan, Iligan City and a son of Engr. Wilfredo A. Alfeche, Control Engineer of Agus 7 National Power Corporation, and Mrs. Marites P. Alfeche, a registered nurse.
Celestial, on the other hand, comes from Poblacion 1, Sikatuna, Bohol and a daughter of Mr. Julian O. Manigo, a government employee, and Mrs. Fe A. Manigo, an agriculturist.
From among the 384 total examinees nationwide, only 144 passed the said exam with a national passing percentage of 37.5%. On the other hand, three out of five VSU examinees successfully hurdled the Board registering an institutional passing percentage of 60%.
The said Board Exam was conducted on September 3-4, 2013 in Manila as announced by PRC.
Since 2008, when the Visayas State University (VSU) produced graduates in the Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering (BSGE), its graduates consistently landed in the top ten slots in the Board of Geodetic Engineers Licensure Examinations given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) every year.
