Viscans, you’re reading it right!
Starting July 02, 2021, you can now transact all types of payments for VSU in your nearest Palawan Pawnshop branch. This is available to all 5 campuses of the VSU system.
With over 3,100 branches nationwide, Palawan Pawnshop is one of the biggest and most affordable remittance centers in the Philippines. This partnership will enable VSU to tap this extensive network of payment centers providing greater convenience and accessibility for all Viscans wherever you are in the country.
This is in line with the directive of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to all state universities and colleges (SUCs) to open up better payment arrangements and other auxiliary services that will provide ease to students in the time of the new normal.
According to Ms. Queen-ever Y. Atupan, the Head of the VSU Cash Division, this service is not only exclusive to student transactions related to school fees but also covers all types of payments including alumni fees, processing of transcripts, and payments related to income-generating projects (IGPs).
With this, payments can now be made in any part of the country with a minimum service fee of Php30 per transaction not exceeding Php50,000.
VSU is the first government agency and the pilot SUC in Eastern Visayas to partner with Palawan Pawnshop. Additional payment and remittance partners will soon be launched to complement this service according to Ms. Atupan.
“We are also securing agreements with other payment centers like Cebuana Lhullier. We want to expand the payment options for our clientele that is why we are also trying to reach out to electronic payment service providers like G-Cash and PayMaya so that Viscans and our other clients will no longer be required to travel far just to accomplish their payment obligations with us,” the VSU Cash Division Head revealed.
Ms. Atupan also explained that currently, one online payment service that is available for VSU clients is the Landbank’s LinkBiz portal.
“Yes, I would like to clarify that we already have an online payment service available because we are duly registered to the Landbank LinkBiz portal. The service includes a Php10.00 fee and open to all Banknet cardholders. Other banks for as long as their card is Banknet-accredited can take advantage of this service anytime and anywhere,” she added.
VSU President Edgardo E. Tulin expressed his delight that this new payment arrangement is now fully operational.
“This is very timely as we are expected to hold our enrollment for the first semester a few weeks from now. I hope that our students and other stakeholders will appreciate this service. I’m also encouraging other remittance centers and electronic payment service providers will also be interested to work with us in the coming days as we want to have more partners for greater accessibility and convenience for all Viscans,” the VSU President said.
