VSUIHS faculty, student-researcher bring home awards from DOST
Ms. Sofia Beatriz L. Punzalan, a Grade 12-STEM student from the VSU Integrated High School (VSUIHS), landed the 3rd spot for the Outstanding Student Creative Research category in the recently concluded Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE).
Meanwhile, Mr. Nelson H. Tejara, a resident data analyst and instructor of VSUIHS, was named as one of the top performing scholars of an extensive training program on data science called the Smart Philippines through Data Analytics Research and Development Training and Adoption (SPARTA).

VSU researchers led by VSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Daniel Leslie S. Tan took home the Unlad Award in the recently concluded Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) 2021.
VP Tan’s winning team includes Engr. Mark Anthony R. Atanacio and Mr. Benjamin L. Cinto, Jr. who are both working as science research assistants of the Philippine Rootcrops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops).

On the evening of November 18, news broke out like wildfire that 3 #ProudViscans dominated the November 2021 Licensure Examination for Agriculturists (LEA).
They were Ella Hazel B. Estrada from the Department of Soil Science (DSS) who topped the 3,927 takers of this year’s agriculture board followed by John Carlos D. Boyles from the Department of Animal Science (DAS) who clinched the second spot, and Kathleen Mae A. Auxtero from the Department of Business and Management (DBM) who ranked 7th place.

After a series of delays brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, VSU Tolosa’s 10 million-peso new library building is drawing nearer to its completion.
With construction and other site works started some time in August 2021, the new building is now 60% done.
