WorldFish, abaca rehab coalition hold workshop on scenario building
To ground and strengthen partnerships among members of the coalition for abaca rehabilitation, the WorldFish facilitated a Scenario Building Workshop on February 4-6, 2015 at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel, Cebu City. The activity aimed to: 1) review and assess the current stage of team development, 2) identify future vision and clear short term goals, 3) make action plans for the coalition, and 4) identify roles and responsibilities of each coalition member.

The Visayas State University has been named as one of the top performing state universities and colleges in the country for the year 2014 by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. The three universities which hurdled the evaluation for Level IV Reaccredited status based on number of programs and ranking are as follows: West Visayas State University – 4 programs, rank 1; Central Luzon State University – 3 programs, rank 2; and Visayas State University – 1 program (Agriculture), rank 3.

Mayono (INF) PA, Commanding Officer of the Alpha Company, 78th Infantry (Warrior) Battalion, 8th Infantry (Storm Trooper) Division of the Philippine Army based in Sitio Wangag, Barangay Damulaan, Albuera, Leyte, for a seminar on Gender and Development. Forty-seven Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSED) major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH) students of the Visayas State University (VSU) Main Campus, together with other dance troupes from various public and private universities and colleges of Cebu City, participated in the Sinulog Launching on January 9, 2015. The different groups performed during the street dancing parade to the distinctive Sinulog beat from the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño down to Fuente Osmeña and the busy streets of the downtown area of Cebu City and at the Cebu City Sports Complex wherein every group showed their Sinulog dancing prowess attuned to the traditional theme “One Beat…One Dance…One Vision.”
