In an effort to carry out its civic welfare service mandate, National Service Training Program (NSTP) Head, Prof. Manolo B. Loreto met with neighboring barangay representatives to discuss future projects that VSU could give aid to.
Prof. Loreto talked to barangay representatives on February 4, 2020, at the VSU Pavilion as a prospecting program for the Civic Welfare Training Service.
This is following the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001 which mandates the CWTS as one of the components of the program.
Among the projects in the meeting include active participation and involvement (especially among members of the 4Ps) in programs focusing on education (i.e. tutorials), health and sanitation (i.e. HIV awareness, dengue, and other diseases), waste management, and agriculture (i.e. establishment of communal and school garden, backyard gardening, and organic farming).
The representatives reassured the NSTP-CWTS staff that their respective barangay captains and the council members will cooperate and give their full support.
