Officials of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) came to VSU on February 6, Thursday, for a benchmarking visit.
Headed by USTP Vice President for Finance, Planning, and Development Vanessa V. Ascaño, the team meant to see first-hand how VSU’s Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) was developed.
At the same time, USTP reviewed VSU’s human resource management system, which was awarded the Bronze Award under PRIME-HRM by the Civil Service Commission.
VSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Remberto A. Patindol welcomed the group, hoping that they would learn something from the university in which they could emulate.
VSU Chief Administrative Officer Lourdes B. Cano shared with the visitors her personal experiences while VSU was in the process of collecting the data and gathering other evidence in support of earning the PRIME-HRM accolade.
“The difficulty that we encountered with the evaluators motivated us to do our best, which resulted in the fruition of our concerted efforts,” Dr. Cano recalls.
Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, USTP president, sent over ten of his key officials from Cagayan de Oro City and Claveria for the visit.
