To address the need for adept space for testing beneficial microorganisms to control pests or biocontrol agents, the VSU Department of Pest Management upgraded the old biocontrol room into a bigger facility to mass produce and maintain these biocontrol agents.

VSU’s fisheries and fish ecology expert from the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) is a recipient of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Balik Scientist Program (BSP) award, a prestigious grant given to Filipino scientists to encourage them to serve in our country.

Assistant Professor May Ann E. Palen, a dedicated faculty member of the VSU Department of Statistics (DepStat), successfully finished her two-month Predoctoral Visit to Hasselt University (UHasselt), Belgium.

As the leading institution in Aquilaria research and development of a biodiversity-friendly enterprise in the region, VSU was tapped by the Regional Industry Board to host a training on Rainforestation-Aquilaria Farming.

It is a great feat of the VSU participants from the Integrated High School (VSUIHS) as all four of them were conferred with best oral presentation awards at the 11th International Conference for Science Educators and Teachers (ISET) 2024.
