IHK marks 13th Founding Anniversary

The Institute of Human Kinetics (IHK) under the leadership of Dr. Aleli A. Villocino, with former IHK Director Ricarido C. Nanggan Jr., celebrated its month-long 13th Anniversary with the theme “IHK @ 13: Getting Stronger, Soaring Higher.”
The different activities lined-up were participated in by the faculty, staff and students. Among these were: the Thanksgiving Mass (March 2), Dulang Pinoy (March 3), Blood Sugar Test (March 4), MAPEH Student Teaching Symposium (March 5), Diabetes Awareness Forum (March 10), Annual Athletic Awards (March 19), and Mugna sa MAPEH (March 20).
During the Annual Athletic Awards and Physical Education Culmination, Director Villocino pointed out that School Year 2014-2015 was an outstanding year of athletic accomplishments with the highest number of VSU athletes qualifying for the National SCUAA in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley. The athletes worked hard, played hard and studied hard while coming together to reach their full potential. Dr. Villocino further quipped that the coaches and assistant coaches are committed to develop well-rounded student-athletes and will continue to assist the young people in achieving their goals to become productive young adults. The program concluded with the presentation of the SCUAA 2014 medalists.
Meanwhile, the month-long anniversary celebration was wrapped-up with various dances during the Mugna sa MAPEH featuring “Hudyaka”, a parade of Philippine Dance Festivals showcasing the following dances: ‘Panagbenga’ of Baguio City; ‘Hambabalud’ of Jimbabalud, Negros Oriental; ‘Sagayan’ of Maguindanao; ‘Bacao’ of Isabela; ‘Caracol’ of Makati City; ‘Tugob’ of Ormoc City; ‘Mango-Bamboo’ of Pangasinan; ‘Binaybayon’ of Baybay City, Leyte; ‘Kaamulan’ of Bukidnon; ‘MassKara’ of Bacolod City; ‘Kadayawan’ of Davao City; ‘Bangus’ of Dagupan City; ‘Aswang’ of Capiz; ‘Hinugyaw’ of Koronadal City; and ‘Sinulog’ of Cebu City.
