VSU will once again host the annual meeting and scientific conference on Soil Science and Technology on June 18-20, 2025.

This is the second time that VSU will host the same conference. Last was in 2010.

This event, now in its 25th year, and is organized by the Philippine Society of Soil Science and Technology (PSSST), Inc., aims to provide a venue for soil science experts and professionals where they can share and exchange views on pressing issues that impact soils.

Moreover, this event will showcase the latest research and development findings in Soil Science and Technology, especially its various sub-disciplines.

Around 400 researchers, faculty, staff and students coming from different industries in the country are expected to participate, present research papers and posters, and formulate policy recommendations in support of the national priority agenda of the government on soil and water management.

A virtual MOA signing was held on January 16, 2025  to  formalize the partnership between VSU and PSSST.

PSSST President Dr. Karen S. Bautista expressed her gratitude to VSU for accepting and committing to this partnership, and for welcoming their team to the university again .

Further, VSU President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes conveyed her support, saying that the opportunity to host the event for the second time is a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in VSU.

PSSST is one of the associate national professional organizations (ANPOs) of the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA) that helps advance soil science, equip students and professionals for emerging challenges, and promote partnerships locally and internationally.

As the Center for Excellence in Agriculture, VSU will host this conference to advance soil science and its role in promoting good and sustainable agricultural practices.
