EV GAD Resource Pool

Ms. Letty Jean C. Lor, the OIC Head of the Gender Resource Center, has been officially recognized as a certified member of the Eastern Visayas Gender and Development (GAD) Resource Pool Batch 1, a distinguished network of GAD experts to advance gender equality and women empowerment in the region

Formed under the RGADC and guided by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the pool plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance, conducting gender-related research and studies, and supporting GAD monitoring and evaluation efforts through the integration of gender perspectives into their policies, programs, and operations across the region.

Ms. Lor was awarded by the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC), organized by the Regional Development Council VIII (RDC VIII). Among the distinguished members of the first batch, Ms. Lor earned the honor of ranking first in recognition of her exemplary qualifications, experience, and commitment to promoting gender equality.

Her achievement highlights the significant contributions of VSU personnel in advancing gender mainstreaming initiatives. Other notable members of the pool include representatives from Biliran Provincial State University, Samar State University, Department of Science and Technology VIII, National Police Commission VIII, Plan International Pilipinas, and LGU Oras, Eastern Samar. These members participated in the ceremonial signing during the RGADC VIII Meeting in Maasin City on September 18, 2024.

Members of the pool come from various sectors, including national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), academic institutions, civil society organizations (CSOs), and independent gender consultants.

The entire VSU community congratulates Ms. Lor on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to her continued contributions to the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the region.

"We are extremely proud of Ms. Lor's achievement, and her recognition reflects not only her dedication and expertise but also the high caliber of VSU personnel in advancing important social causes such as gender equality," VSU President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes said.

VSU also encourages other individuals to apply for certification in future batches of the EV GAD Resource Pool. With a growing network of qualified professionals, this initiative is key to strengthening gender-responsive governance and sustainable development across Eastern Visayas.
