The Philosophical Association of the Philippines (PAP) Inc., an organization of philosophy professors and researchers in the country is looking for paper submissions for the PAP 2024 Annual Conference which will be held at Visayas State University on July 18 to 20, 2024.
This year, PAP embraces the overarching theme of exploring the intricate interplay between Artificial Intelligence and the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly within the Philippine context.
Rationale
Moving beyond the traditional emphasis on metaphysical questions and engaging in a more praxis-oriented mode of inquiry to engage with critical social and political issues, this conference explores the dynamic realm of Filipino philosophy, providing frameworks for ethical and moral decision-making, which entails focusing on the practical implications of philosophical ideas and their potential to contribute to social transformation of the Philippines and beyond. Thus, we welcome submissions of finalized papers exploring the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals in the Philippines, or any related topics concerning progress and sustainable initiatives.
Alternatively, researchers are invited to explore each topic separately, examining the notable political or social ramifications of Artificial Intelligence and/or Sustainable Development Goals. Contributors are urged to consider the ethical dimensions, adeptly bridging the divide between theoretical discussions and practical implementation. This dynamic approach transforms the conference into a crucible, melding scholarly depth with pragmatic insights, promoting a comprehensive understanding that aligns with the demands of modern academia and societal needs. Your contributions hold the potential to steer discourse and instigate impactful change within our society.
While our primary emphasis lies in the realm of AI-SDGs discourse, we eagerly embrace alternative yet compelling explorations within the traditional domains of philosophy.
Furthermore, we wholeheartedly welcome proposals for panel discussions, fostering collaborative dialogue and enhancing our shared comprehension.
