About the Program
The VSU BSME program is a four-year degree program offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering under the College of Engineering and Technology. The curriculum is aligned and compliant to the policies, standards and guidelines for the BSME program from CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 97, series of 2017. The offering of the program is approved by the Board of Regents per BOR Resolution No. 76, series of 2018.
The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering curriculum is aligned to the principles of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), the K-12 Education Program, and the New General Education Curriculum (NGEC). It specifies the core competencies expected of BSME graduates upon graduation, after seven years of engineering practice, and as a globally competitive practicing engineer.
The VSU BSME degree program will ensure the future professionals to adapt to the exponential advancement in technology, exploration for new renewable energy sources, drive for new efficient power systems, automation and instrumentation, and environmentally non-invasive cooling and heating systems. The curriculum will also secure that the BSME program will continuously evolve in response to the changing regional, national, and global market needs; environmental concern as it is progressively challenged to improve the efficiency of industrial and manufacturing systems employed by current systems; and highly sustainable technology projects that would ensure inclusive growth in the country.
