About the Program

The BSA Program is a four-year ladderized degree program focused entirely on plant and animal technology. The program aims to help students gain fundamental understanding of agricultural processes, types of equipment and tools used to grow plants, breed animals and maintain outdoor environments. It also teaches students practical and theoretical knowledge in crop and animal production, postharvest technology, pest management and agribusiness management.

The BSA Program has the following program objectives:

• aims to educate students in scientific habit of thought and entrepreneurial skills
• prepare them to be professionals with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture
• emphasizes processes and techniques of identifying, diagnosing and analyzing problems 
• designing, packaging and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of agriculture and food system resources

This program is new to the college as it previously offered, the ladderized Diploma in Agricultural Technology - Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (DAT-BAT). The program is in its fourth year after it was first implemented in the college.
