In a remarkable convergence of expertise, prominent economists from across the Philippines convened for the 61st Philippine Economic Society conference at Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City on November 7-8, 2023.

Dr. Moises Neil V. Seriño, Dean of the College of Management and Economics, and Mr. Dhenber Lusanta of the Ecological Farm and Resources Management Institute (Eco-FARMI) took part in the Special Lecture Series on Climate Resilient Agriculture in Bangkok, Thailand as invited resource speakers and collaborating experts.

This story is about reintroducing insects as a potential nutritious food alternative for Filipinos as part of the commitment of the university to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly on food security, economic growth, and the protection of the environment.

To sustain agriculture despite the changing climate, Visayas State University (VSU) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Studies and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) jointly spearheaded the annual gathering of faculty researchers who are members of the University Consortium (UC) to share meaningful dialogue through academic and research expertise.

With the many challenges this generation faces, such as the impacts of climate change on agriculture and the environment, the Southeast Asian University Consortium (UC) for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources in collaboration with Maejo University (MJU) organized the 8th UC Graduate Forum focusing on the future of agriculture sustainability.
