About the DBS
Vision
It is envisioned to become the center of excellence in the biological sciences in the Visayas.
Mission
Its mission is for the attainment of the well-being of the people in the Visayas through effective and relevant instruction, research and extension in the biological sciences and related agricultural and environmental sciences.
Goals

Objectives
The BSBiology program is structured to:
- produce graduates who can be employed in government and private agencies needing scientist with biological expertise, can teach at the tertiary level, and undertake research in various areas in biology
- satisfy the requirements for admission to medical school.
About DTE
The Department of Teacher Education aims to:
- Provide quality pre-service taining for teachers in the elementary, secondary and collegiate levels
- Conduct research that will help improve the quality of education
- Extend relevant community service to help uplift people's lives especially those living near the VSU.
Objectives
- Produce morally strong, competent and dedicated elementary/secondary school teachers.
- Develop among prospective teachers genuine love for teaching and a real concern for the welfare and development of the learners in particular and the country, in general.
- Provide students the opportunity to formulate and conduct research on relevant areas and undertake community outreach projects.
- Produce excellent professionals in elementary/secondary education who can pass very satisfactorily the Licensure Examination for Teachers.
About CoN
The BS in Nursing program of the College started out as a Ladderized Program (BOR Resolution no. 11, s. 2007 and revised per BOR Resolution no. 79, s. 2008.) Then, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) accredited the two vocational programs in Nursing Assistant and Caregiver which grant students who have passed the TESDA assessment a National Certificate.
In December 2007, the Department of Nursing Skills Laboratory and Lecture rooms were inaugurated. From then on, the VSU Board of Regents passed BOR resolution no. 73, s. 2009 on the 29th of October, approving the creation of the College of Nursing. Facilities and equipment were set up to meet the minimum standards set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Partnerships with clinical agencies, community organizations. Governmnt and Non-government Organizations were forged to provide the needs of an outstanding generalist Nursing Education.

Produce a compassionate and holistic care giver equipped with critical thinking abilities, competent nursing skills and a well-disciplined person observant of the Code of Ethics for Nurses with emphasis on transcultural nursing.
