This page contains information on admission and enrollment of both incoming first-year students and continuing students. Enrollment procedures in previous semesters are updated to include a mandatory health assessment of all students entering the campus. We also lay down information about how to apply to campus dormitories.

We encourage Viscans to read the contents of this page properly and address questions through the university’s social media channels for us to assist you.

See you soon, Viscans!

Admission of Incoming First-Year Students

Incoming first-year students must qualify in the 2022 VSU College Admission Test in order to be admitted to the university.

There are two main types of qualifiers:

  • Accepted Qualifiers - Those who are admitted directly into their program of choice; and
  • Open Qualifiers - Those who did not make it to the quota of their original program but may be admitted into other programs with open slots.

An additional type of qualifier, a Waitlisted Qualifier, are Open Qualifiers who are next in rank in their original program of choice. They may be admitted if the originally accepted qualifiers do not continue enrolling and their slots become available.

All qualifiers shall undergo pre-enrollment at the MyVSU Student Portal.

Accepted qualifiers were allowed to pre-enroll last July 11-15 to claim their slots. Starting July 18, the remaining slots (except for BSN, BSCE, and DVM) were made available to open qualifiers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-enrollment can only be done until July 29, 2022, Friday.

For BSN, BSCE, and DVM, slots are offered to waitlisted qualifiers as they become available on a next-in-rank scheme.

How to Pre-enroll:

  1. Go to the MyVSU Student Portal at my.vsu.edu.ph (Use the Google Chrome browser on your computer or mobile device to ensure compatibility.)

  2. Enter the needed information such as your ECN, Name, Birthday, Email, and Mobile Number. These details must match with what has been submitted during your CAT application in order to proceed.

  3. For open qualifiers, choose your desired program from the list. For accepted qualifiers, you are locked into your program.

  4. Complete the information and submit. A confirmation page says you have successfully pre-enrolled.

When you are done pre-enrolling, you must submit an original copy of your admission controls to the Office of the Head of Admissions through courier or personally as soon as possible.

To personally hand in your documents, you may proceed to the Technomart Area near the VSU Main Campus entrance. You may have someone else submit your credentials.

For courier submissons, address them to:

Head of Admissions
Visayas State University
Visca, Baybay City, Leyte
Philippines 6521

Documents to submit:

  1. School credentials:
    1. Original Report Card: Form 138/SF9 (For SHS graduating students/HS graduates only);
    2. ALS A&E Certificate of Rating (For ALS graduates only);
    3. Transcript of Records with Certificate of Transfer Credentials or Honorable dismissal (For second coursers and transferees only);
  2. Original PSA Birth Certificate or a duly filled out and signed promissory note using FM-OHA-05 in case this is not yet available;
  3. Original Certificate of Good Moral Character; and
  4. Four (4) ID pictures, passport size, colored with white background.

The Admissions staff will issue an acknowledgement receipt once your credentials have been submitted. For personal submissions, the receipt is in hard copy. For courier submissions, the receipt is in the form of an email.

Pre-enrolled qualifiers who have submitted their admission credentials shall undergo health assessment at the University Services for Health, Emergency, and Rescue (USHER) also known as the VSU Infirmary.

The health assessment at the VSU Infirmary comprises the following steps:

  1. Appointment and Registration

    Starting August 1, 2022, an appointment system will be implemented through the MyVSU Student Portal. More details will be provided here soon on how to make an appointment. Only those who have an appointment for the day and time will be allowed to enter the lower campus to go to the Infirmary.

    USHER will be accepting 200 appointments per day: 100 in the morning and 100 in the afternoon. For each batch, 50 with lab results and 50 without lab results will be taken in.

  2. Checking of Vital Signs (only at the VSU Infirmary)

  3. Laboratory Test

    Lab tests (Urinalysis, Fecalysis, and CBC) may be done at the VSU Infirmary during your appointment or through a DOH-Accredited Laboratory beforehand at your personal expense. Testing at the Infirmary is free of charge.

  4. X-Ray

    The Chest PA X-ray may be done at the VSU Infirmary during your appointment or through a DOH-Accredited X-Ray Facility beforehand at your personal expense. X-Ray at the Infirmary is free of charge.

  5. Dental Exam (this may only be done at the VSU Infirmary)

  6. Physical Exam with a VSU Medical Doctor

  7. Release of Medical Certificate

After Step 2, the Admissions staff examines your admission credentials and forwards them to the Office of the University Registrar for enrollment. This process takes time.

Once the Registrar processes your enrollment successfully, you will receive your temporary Certificate of Registration (COR) via the email you registered in the system. Most students should receive their Temporary COR on or before August 10.

If you have not received your Temporary COR by August 12, please contact the Office of the University Registrar as soon as possible.

When you already have your temporary COR and your medical certificate, you may already claim your validated COR from the Registrar starting August 12. Please submit your medical certificate to the OUR. There is no deadline for claiming your validated COR but you must present this to your instructor/professor when attending your classes in the 1st semester.

Congratulations, you are now officially enrolled! Welcome to Visayas State University!

Enrollment of Continuing Students

Continuing students will enroll online, but should undergo a medical examination in order to have their COR validated.
