Students from Nagoya City University visited VSU on February 11 to meet the university officials, and discuss the ongoing academic collaborations and explore further opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and cultural programs.

The delegation, led by Dr. Sachiyo Soga, an Associate Professor of Education for Sustainable Development at NCU, includes four NCU students who will engage in a series of lectures, cultural exchanges, and discussion with the VSU faculty and students.

This visit is part of the growing partnership between VSU Tolosa and NCU, which began with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes academic cooperation between the two institutions.

The agreement outlines faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and academic resource sharing.

Building on this, both institutions formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in 2024 specifically for student exchange programs, allowing up to five students from each university to study at the partner institution every academic year.

NCU’s engagement with VSU Tolosa started in August 2023 when Dr. Soga visited for consultation meetings on potential collaborations in instruction, research, extension, and production activities. This was followed by a study tour in February 2024, where she and three NCU undergraduate students participated in roundtable discussions exploring research partnerships and faculty benchmarking opportunities.

Through these initiatives, VSU and NCU continue to strengthen their academic and cultural ties, providing students and faculty with opportunities for international exposure, research collaboration, and cross-cultural learning.

NCU is a government-funded university in Aichi, Japan, recognized for its strong academic programs and commitment to international collaborations. It offers a wide range of disciplines including Humanities and Social Sciences, Nursing, Economics, Engineering, and Veterinary Medicine.

With a focus on academic and research, NCU actively engages in academic partnerships worldwide to promote exchange programs and collaborative projects
