Viscans can now use Affinity toolset for free using their verified Canva account

Aside from availing the premium access of Canva for Education using the @vsu.edu.ph accounts, Viscans can now enjoy Affinity, another professional design software, for free.

The recent update of Canva joining forces with Affinity is another perk for all Viscans, as they can avail themselves of more design tools that they can use for their academic and personal needs.

Affinity, the award-winning software suite for photo editing, graphic design, and page layout, collaborated with Canva in March 2024. Using the same credentials with the verified Canva for Education accounts, Affinity’s creative toolset, such as Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Designer 2, and Affinity Publisher 2, will now be accessible for free.

In 2023, VSU gave premium licenses for Google and Microsoft 365, available to all faculty, staff, and students. Viscans can use their EDU accounts to get premium access to Canva for Education and unlock templates, graphics, fonts, images, audio, and videos to create visually appealing content like presentations and posters.

Here’s a guide from Canva on how you can access the Affinity creative toolset:

Step 1: Download the Affinity app(s) on your device(s).

Select which Affinity app(s) you want to install—Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Designer 2, or Affinity Publisher 2—on your macOS, Windows, or iPadOS device(s).

Step 2: Sign in with your Canva account.

Open the Affinity app and select ‘Sign in with Canva.’ Follow the steps on the screen and log in using your verified Canva for Education credentials.

Step 3: Affinity is now ready to use!

You’re now ready to use Affinity for free. Faculty, staff, and students can follow these same steps to download and access Affinity with their verified Canva for Education accounts.
