In its continuous search for truth, relevance, and excellence in science and technology in the Visayas, the Visayas State University (VSU) in Baybay City, Leyte has integrated extension as on of its major functions.
VSU, in collaboration with other institutions/agencies, envisions to improve the well-being of its target benegiciaries through sustained growth in agriculture and alied fields. this can be achieved through excellent and relevant extension programs. one of this is training.
Training is a built-in function of the research centers/institute and academic departments of the university. The Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (OVPRE) monitors, coordinates, and sometimes initiates trainings when needed.

Our Training Methods
Our training courses are designed to better equip participants with technical knowledge and practical skills. We uphold a learning-by-doing principle. Our methods also include:
- Coaching
- Lectures/Interactive discussions to convey specific information, rules, procedures or methods. This method is useful, where information is to be shared among a large number of trainees.
- simltation exercises
- Experiential Exercises
- Role-Playing
- Games
- In-Basket Exercises

Training costs
On-Campus. Training fees shall be based on the expenses for the training materials, charges for use of facilities and equipment, professional fee for resource persons, and accomodations.
On-Site. for on-site training, the training cost will be shouldered by the requesting agency/party.
Application/Reservation. Application must be made at least three weeks before the scheduled training dates. Prospective applicants must complete and return an application form together wih a non-refundable commitment fee of P200.00.
