Two faculty-researchers of the Visayas State University (VSU) recently gained distinct recognitions from the region and from the University of the Philippines- Los Baños.

The Philippine Root Crops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) celebrated its 41st anniversary with the theme “Rootcrops: Increasing Relevance Through the Years” on March 21, 2018 at the E.N. Bernardo Hall.

The VSU Forest Restoration and Livelihood (FoRestaL) Advocates is accorded the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award during the 2018 Outstanding Government Workers Awards Rites of the Philippine Civil Service Commission.

The Summit is organized by the Abaca Coalition of Eastern Visayas, a consortium of SUCs, LGUs, and other organizations.

VSU President Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin encouraged beneficiaries of the National Greening Program to engage in the bee-keeping industry as an alternate source of income for growing trees.
