81 academic, 21 special awards await graduates

This year, 81 graduating students will receive Latin honors, 14 magna cum laude, and 67 cum laude, during the 63rd Commencement Exercises, April 13.
Some 95 students will receive 21 special awards from government leaders and VSU vice presidents and deans.
One student will receive the VSU Presidential Award of Academic Excellence with Cash Award of P20,000, five will bring home the Manny Villar Excellence Award, three with Sen. Sonny J. Angara Award of Excellence, three with Sen. Bam Aquino BidaAngMamamayan Award, ten with Sen. Nancy Binay Award of Excellence, two with Sen. Loren B. Legarda Award of Excellence, ten with Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito Award of Excellence, three with Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III Award of Excellence, and 30 with An WarayPartylist: Cong. Victoria Noel Award of Excellence.
The following awards will also be given to 28 exemplary students:
- Vice President for Instruction’s Medal of Excellence,
- Vice President for Research and Extension’s Medal of Excellence
- Vice President for Administration and Finance’s Medal of Excellence
- Vice President for Planning, Resource Generation and External Affairs’ Medal of Excellence
- College of Agriculture and Food Science Dean’s Medal of Excellence
- College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Medal of Excellence
- College of Education Dean’s Medal of Excellence
- College of Engineering Dean’s Medal of Excellence
- College of Forestry and Environmental Science Dean’s Medal of Excellence,
- College of Management and Economics Dean’s Medal of Excellence,
- Dean of Students’ Medal of Excellence, and Dean of the Graduate School Medal of Excellence
The following VSU graduates who topped last year’s board examinations will also receive medals and cash rewards:
- 1st placer Geodetic Engr. Rex R. Doñoz with Congressman Jose Carlos L. Cari Award of Excellence
- 1st placer Forester Marjorie D. Elbiña with Mayor Carmen L. Cari Award of Excellence
- 4th placer Geodetic Engr. Romer S. Bongbonga, 7th placer Engr. Mark Russell G. Guatno, and 9th placer Engr. Kim Ralph D. Rosal with Board Member Florante A. Cayunda, Jr. Award of Excellence.
