From being hailed as the top-performing criminology school in Region VIII earlier this year by the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) 8, VSU Tolosa once more produced another topnotcher from the August 2023 licensure examination for criminologists.
#ProudViscan Sander Senado from Brgy. San Victor, Tanauan, Leyte, is the top 4 criminologist in the recent results of the board after garnering a total rating of 88.60% among the 5,743 passers across the country.
He finished his Bachelor of Science in Criminology degree last August 2022 and right after his graduation, he immediately enrolled himself in the Amici Review Center in Tacloban City, a review center that consistently produces criminology topnotchers since its inception in 2020.
For a year, Mr. Senado dedicated his time to studying to top the licensure exam. For him, self-discipline and self-respect are the important keys that helped him succeed in his goals.
“It was a year of review and preparation for the examination. I enrolled in a review center right after I graduated last August 2022, I took up the diagnostic test given by the review center I enrolled in, luckily, I topped their test and became one of the scholars of that review center, thus, I purposely skipped the December 2022 and April 2023 Licensure Exam for Criminologist because I do really want to be on top, and with the help and support of Amici Review Center, I made it!”
As the eldest son of the family, Mr. Senado is determined to portray a good example to his siblings. That is why he did well in his studies, and now by making it to the top 10 successful examinees with the highest ratings.
“I came from a family that is full of love and support in which being financially challenged doesn't really affect us anymore. I am the firstborn child of my parents, and that's why I strive really hard to make my parents proud and to be a role model for my younger siblings. Furthermore, I became who I am today for the reason that I want to lift my family out of poverty.”
The #ProudViscan topnotcher revealed that he pulled an all-nighter to study his review materials ahead of the licensure exam.
“I prefer to study at night, I always read my review materials the whole night. My sleeping hours were in the morning, 3-5 hours of sleep, and after that, I watched video discussions until the afternoon. However, I always take a few minutes of power nap if ever I feel tired and I think that helps me the most because that makes me feel recharged and have the energy to study more. Moreover, always seek guidance from our God.”
Topping the board for him was an unforgettable momentous experience of his life. He was grateful that he made his family, friends, and alma mater–the VSU Tolosa proud by reaching this far.
“Of course, there were a lot of people behind this achievement and I'm grateful for them. First of all, I would like to thank God for guiding me and my family always; of course my family, for being by my side and always supporting me throughout; the VSU-Tolosa family, especially my instructors, thank you for the knowledge and experience you've shared to us; to my partner, thank you for staying on my side and for helping me during my review; to my friends the TabonTabon group; and also to my review center, the Amici Review Center, thank you for everything, indeed that you're the best review center in the Philippines and I can prove that,” #ProudViscan Senado said.
