PhilRootcrops, ViSERDAC train DA Central Visayas staff on climate risk assessment via Google Meet

The Philippine Root Crop Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops), with the Visayas Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (ViSERDAC) hosted a virtual training on May 26 and 27, 2020.
The two centers embraced the ‘new normal’ with an online training workshop dubbed “Investment Appraisal of Selected Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) Practices in Region VII”.
The activity was held online through Google Meet, a video conferencing service, with 40 staff of the Department of Agriculture in Region VII (Central Visayas) and its divisions in Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor and Negros Oriental participating.
The training was part of a capability building activity set for the project entitled “Climate Risk Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) of Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor Provinces for the Implementation of CRA”, spearheaded by Prof. Alan B. Loreto.
Dr. Moises Neil V. Seriño, Dean of the VSU College of Management and Economics held a lecture on cost and benefit analysis, sensitivity analysis, and externalities, followed by preparing a technical investment brief.
The activity was funded by the Department of Agriculture - System Wide Climate Change Office (DA-SWCCO).
