VSU system produces more than 600 new teachers in Sept 2018 LET

A total of 610 examinees from VSU main and branch campuses successfully passed the September 2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Of this number, 487 are high school teachers and 123 are for elementary. The main campus produced a total of 250 new teachers on both levels; VSU Isabel, 55; VSU Tolosa, 132; VSU Alangalang, 100; and VSU Villaba, 73.
As announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on December 7, the national passing rate is at 20.29% for the elementary and 43.03% for the secondary.
The University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) produced three of this year’s four topnotchers. Rhea Joy Yebes Genson (USEP-Davao City) and Mariel Cataluña Saladaga (USEP-Tagum), both yielding a passing rate of 89.80%, topped the elementary teacher’s exam. Meanwhile, Francis Dave Perez Cabanting (USEP-Davao City) and Samuel John Estenor Parreño from the University of Mindanao - Digos College topped the secondary exam, both registering a 92.80% passing rate.
Topping this year’s list of top performing schools is the University of Santo Tomas with a passing percentage of 86.78%.
The September 2018 Board Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) were conducted at testing centers in Manila, Antique, Baguio, Bacolod, Batanes, Cagayan de Oro, Catarman Northern Samar, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Pagadian, Zamboanga and additional testing locations at Oriental Mindoro, Kidapawan Cotabato, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, Romblon, Palawan and Catanduanes.
