Just in time for the celebration of the 92nd Founding Anniversary of VSU, faculty and staff welcomed 397, including three foreign, new students to the first semester of school year 2016-2017, at the VSU Convention Center, August 2.

Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin, VSU President, introduced the different college deans and department heads to 254 freshmen, and 143 transferees, the largest transferee enrolment rate by far.

In an orientation program, the students were informed about the academic policies at VSU, as well as services they can avail of. Dean of Students Engr. Manolo B. Loreto introduced VSU’s team of guidance counsellors, psychometrician, and other student services staff.

This year, VSU offered curricular programs in BS in Agriculture, BS in Animal Science, Bachelor of Secondary Education, BS in Civil Engineering, BS in Agribusiness, BS in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management, BS in Computer Science, BS in Forestry, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  The degree programs were offered depending on the number of enrolees.

VSU had been mandated by the Commission on Higher Education to offer curricular programs to freshmen this year on top of offering the Senior High School program.
