VSU to host PAPSAS regional student leadership summit
Now in its second year, this event is spearheaded by the Philippine Association of Practitioners for Student Affairs and Services - Region 8 Chapter (PAPSAS-8), and will bring together student leaders from public and private higher education institutions across the region.
As a partner institution, VSU will provide a space where students and other participants can enhance their leadership skills, exchange insights, and prepare for bigger roles beyond their academic journeys.
PAPSAS-8 has also linked with the VSU University Supreme Student Council-Baybay (USSC-Baybay) to handle the team-building activities and some of the logistical preparations.
This summit is designed to strengthen student leadership by offering meaningful discussions, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities. It will also serve as a platform for students to learn from one another, share best practices, and develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader in today’s fast-changing world.
With speakers from De La Salle University and JCI Philippines, the program will focus on acquiring 21st-century leadership skills to equip participants with the competencies and strategies they can apply in their organizations and future careers.
VSU’s role in student affairs is further highlighted by the election of Kent Jan A. Beldia, the Counseling and Responsive Care Coordinator, as the Public Relations Officer of PAPSAS-8 for the 2025-2028.
As the largest university in the region in terms of student population, VSU continues to shape future leaders and provide opportunities that strengthen their growth and potential.
PAPSAS-8 continuously conducts programs that tackle student concerns and development needs, aiming to equip both students and student affairs practitioners with the competencies necessary for their roles in academic institutions and beyond.
Led by its incumbent Chapter President, Prof. Lowe S. Taña, the Dean of Student Affairs of St. Paul School of Professional Studies, PAPSAS-8 is a non-government, non-profit organization composed of professionals who has long been at the forefront of student affairs and services in the Philippines.
With VSU as the host, the PAPSAS-8 2nd Regional Student Leadership Summit will be a space for growth and synergy. This will be an avenue for student leaders to step up, connect with peers, and take on greater challenges that shape the future.
